We will now see how searching works in practice. This next section will take you through the stages of conducting a comprehensive search in PubMed, using thesaurus and textword searching.
We will also learn how to do a basic, quick search to retrieve a few relevant citations using a feature of PubMed called Clinical Queries (go straight to Clinical Queries pages).

What is Medline?
Medline is a primary research database produced by the National Library of Medicine, and is the most commonly used medical database. It contains references to articles from the biomedical literature from over 3500 journals.
75% of the records are published in English, over half of which contain abstracts. The database is international in scope, but coverage favours literature from the USA.
