Summary

Remember that citations retrieved from a search of PubMed need to be critically appraised - not all studies indexed in Medline will be of high quality. Examples of appraising studies are given in the Appraise section of this module.

Systematic reviews found in the Cochrane Library, however, are subject to quality criteria and can be considered to be of much higher quality.

For access to other high quality, preappraised evidence, you should visit the National electronic Library for Health (NeLH). The NeLH is a gateway to resources such as Guidelines Finder, Clinical Evidence, Specialist Libraries and the British National Formulary.
