Introduction to RCTs

As an introduction to randomised controlled trials, we will begin by looking at the background to RCTs - such as why do we need them and what they are intended to achieve?

We will look at the patients, the interventions and the outcomes involved in RCTs.

Bias in clinical research is an important issue, and we will consider this topic also.

The process of randomisation is vital when conducting an RCT - we will look at why this is so, and how it should be done.
