The results are sensitive to the discount rate of benefits, the initial risk of cardiovascular disease and the price of pravastatin.

The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio for the 40% of highest risk patients results in £13,995 per life-year gained in this patients.

The results without discounting of benefits are £8,121 per life-year gained for the study sample and £5,601 for the 40% higher-risk individuals in the study sample.
